The Power of One Way Workflow: How TasNetworks Transformed Maintenance Monitoring with SAP Signavio

Speaker: David Krujiver, Digital Solutions Lead at TasNetworks

In maintaining the electricity distribution network in Tasmania, TasNetworks is required to continually deliver a steady stream of maintenance and construction works. The workstream however was subjected to continual blockages and rework emanating from poor data, process and prioritisation practices. In 2024, a new ‘One way workflow’ was implemented, including the development of a “Works Management Standard” which clearly describes the process and data outcomes expected of various types of work.

As part of the revised process a number of SAP automation and configuration changes were made and significant retraining and coaching of works staff to align with the data and process continues to occur. Whilst evidence of data adherence is easily reported, and is trending in the right direction, there was no clear way to measure the process.

TasNetworks has implemented SAP Signavio to monitor the notification and work order process adherence and to accurately measure the benefits arising from the One Way Works Flow.

 Key Takeaways:

  • Real life examples of the application of Signavio across EAM data structure
  • View some of the other automation opportunities we took in our revised work order design
  • Measuring data quality is different to measuring process quality

In this session, we’ll take a walk through the past 25 years of SAP from the perspective of an End User. We’ll explore how expectations have changed - and how they haven’t - when it comes to basic tasks like finding work orders, entering time, or navigating complex master data.

You’ll hear how AGL has used Fiori to make things easier for field teams, and we’ll open the floor to hear your ideas and pain points too. It’s interactive, it’s honest, and it’s about time we talked about what transformation really looks like for End Users.

Points to be covered include:

  • Is your Master Data helping or holding back your users?
  • Why is raising a Notification still so hard for some?
  • How can users easily find and manage their work?
  • What gets in the way of closing out a job efficiently?

Key Takeaways:

  • Hear how others are streamlining the End User experience in SAP.

From Assumptions to Action: Unlocking Asset Management with Data-Driven Insights

Speaker:  Karla Palma, Senior Asset Integrity and Reliability Analyst at Precision Drilling

In an era where operational efficiency drives competitive advantage, Precision Drilling embarked on a transformative journey to optimise its asset management strategy, beginning with the implementation of SAP S/4HANA in 2018. This foundational shift enabled enterprise-wide integration, laying the groundwork for data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. As a result, we evolved from mere data collection to actionable intelligence, reshaping our approach to asset maintenance and lifecycle management.

  • Scaling success with yokoten: Explore how to replicate high-quality plans across assets and sites for consistency, compliance, and enterprise-wide gains.

Synergy’s Secret to Saving Millions Annually on SAP HANA Licensing — Learn to Leverage the Most Underused Standard Feature

Speaker: Devang Shah, Manager SAP Applications, Synergy WA

In preparation for a successful S/4HANA migration, Synergy took a proactive approach to managing their SAP HANA database, saving millions in licensing costs annually by leveraging Data Volume Management (DVM) - one of the most underused features in the SAP standard license. By reducing their SAP HANA database size by 7.5 TB, and deleting 8.6 billion records, Synergy not only optimised their system’s performance but also significantly minimized ongoing licensing fees.

For organisations still on ECC or in the process of migrating to S/4HANA, this session highlights Data Volume Management (DVM) as a crucial step to streamline data, reduce costs, and prepare your system for a smoother transition to S/4HANA. This tool, included with your SAP license, can help you manage database growth, securely archive and delete data, and minimize the size of your HANA database—all critical steps for optimizing your environment ahead of migration.

Join us to learn how you can leverage DVM to unlock similar savings and efficiency, even before fully transitioning to S/4HANA.

Key Takeaways:

  • Why DVM Is Crucial for ECC-to-S/4HANA Migration: Understand how Data Volume Management plays a pivotal role in preparing your system for a successful S/4HANA migration, especially if you’re still on ECC.
  • Maximise Savings and Efficiency: Learn how leveraging this often-overlooked tool can save your organization millions in SAP HANA licensing costs and reduce unnecessary database growth.
  • Best Practices for Using DVM: Get actionable insights on how to automate data archiving, classification, and secure deletion to optimise performance, ensure compliance, and improve data management for your SAP environment.
